Temporary housing for Jake!

Donation protected
I met Jake last week, gave him a few bucks to help him out and we started talking. He's been homeless for a little over a year. Despite losing his job, the little money he had saved, his mother to cancer, and contracting HIV himself which transgressed into AIDS & Leukemia, then ending up on the streets alone, Jake is still optimistic about life and his future. He is not angry, nor does he blame anyone else for his mishaps. Living on the streets is indeed agonizing, but from talking to him he seems to always find a way to look on the bright side. I found his courage and optimism to be quite admirable. So I decided help Jake. He talks about how much he misses the little things (not the nice car or the flashy clothes he once had.) But long hot baths, sleeping in a bed, eating warm food inside somewhere, shaving, and watching a good movie. I'm in the process of helping him get his identification card, birth certificate, food stamps, and a government issues free cell phone right now, which were all stolen from his possession while he was sleeping. But what I really would like to do is raise enough money to get him at least a two or three week stay at a motel this summer. A place where he can go and feel human again. He is excited about getting his identication cards, because he knows that with them he can actually get hired for work. He is completely drug and alcohol free (ever since he was diagnosed with Leukemia last year) and he has never been arrested or convicted of any crime. He also told me despite being homeless, he has never stolen anything in his life. When he finds gift cards and food in trash cans, he shares them with the friends he's made who are also on the street. He is a really good kid with a big heart, and he is absolutely committed to picking himself up off the ground and changing his circumstances. I want to do everything I possibly can to help him see to it. But first, I really wanna get this guy a motel room for at least a few weeks but hopefully longer. Any donation is so so appreciated! He's sitting next to me as I type this..He wanted me to tell you all that he is truly overwhelmed with gratitude for whatever we raise, and if you aren't able to donate money, then to simply pray for him :)

Thank you!!
