To give Polly the life she deserves
Donation protected
Polly was born and was a perfectly healthy baby girl hitting all her milestones and doing really well until she hit 15 weeks and started having seizures. These were investigated and were found to be infantile spasms and further investigations showed her little brain was not developing correctly and she also had some cysts. Pollys spasms were incredibly hard to control and she lost all of the skills she had mastered such as smiling and head control. As time went on Polly developed other strains of epilepsy and had an NG tube fitted. In September after yet another hospital admission (of which we have lost count) Polly was given the devastating diagnosis of Aicardi syndrome, an extremely rare brain condition which effects only girls and 1 in every 120,000 children. The condition means she is very slow to develop and may never walk, talk or eat normal food again. It also means she has a limited lifespan and normal childhood illness can be life threatening. Every day that we have with her, regardless of how long or short that time maybe is a blessing. She is now 19 months old and simply amazing!
We are raising money to help make adapations within the household, to create a safe, stable and useable family home also to help with the care she will require for the rest of her life. Being in military housing as we are now is not going to be possible in the future as there is a limit to what they will do and have the ability to do. Until recently we were not fully aware of how many adaptions and how much care Polly is going to need.
We are determined to make her as happy and comfortable as possible and do as much as we can with her whilst we still can.
Any support will mean the world to us, Nancy and little Polly Pocket, we want the best life we can give her and to make memories Nancy can treasure forever.
Thankyou from the bottom of our hearts for your support.
