Tom was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic prostate cancer seven years ago. He has gone through eight different treatments, fifteen radiation treatments, three surgeries and over forty rounds of chemotherapy. The cancer has still progressed spreading to his brain, spine, ribcage, and organs. Tom has tried his best to continue working as the chef at Amery Ale Works, but the disease has progressed
to the point that he is unable to work. This has left his wife Candy, who works at
CL School District and Amery Ale Works, to be the sole provider for the family. Tom’s conventional cancer treatment is no longer keeping the cancer at bay. They are seeking alternative treatments, but the costs are not covered by insurance.
