Tom Stark Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Sarah and Tom (28) is my cousin. I am raising money to cover funeral costs and help fund his 12-year-old son and my godson, Bentley’s, future.
On Thursday, March 3rd, 2023 Tom went into sudden cardiac arrest at his home. His mom, Denise, bravely performed compressions until first responders arrived. Unfortunately, he was declared brain dead on March 5th.
True to Tom’s character, he made the generous decision to become an organ donor when he first got his driver's license. Denise’s actions allowed for him to be put on a ventilator so the ICU team at North Memorial Hospital could ensure his organs were strong enough to donate. Ultimately, he was able to donate both kidneys, one strong-as-hell liver, and his best quality – his big heart – to four, well deserving individuals in the early hours of March 7th.
Now our focus shifts to celebrating Tom’s life and making sure that Bentley knows he has an army of support behind him. I will be using funds raised to cover the costs of his memorial services and setting up a trust fund for Bentley to access in the future. Please consider donating and showing Bentley how much love we all have for him and his dad.
To follow in Tom’s footsteps, you can register to become an organ donor when renewing your drivers license or by visiting www.donatelife.net/register.
Be a hero like Denise and learn how to perform CPR by signing up for a class at www.redcross.org/take-a-class/cpr.
Thank you to the Maple Plain Fire Department, West Hennepin Police Department, EMS, ICU, and surgical teams at North Memorial Hospital, and the LifeSource team.
