Arjahz Soccer Academy is a 501c3 corporation that provides young boys and girls from Essex and Union counties in NJ an opportunity to enhance their soccer skills and attain their optimum potential within the sport. Equally, and perhaps more importantly, we also offer academic support to the kids within our programs. We highlight and reward academic brilliance coupled with soccer involvement as it is our core belief that excelling in sports and education should not be mutually exclusive. Each child who plays for ASA will be encouraged and expected to uphold certain ethical and moral standards that reflect the image of the organization.
We do not select players based solely on their soccer skills, or their family’s ability to pay their fees. The main criteria used to select players to play for ASA are their desire to play and improve in the sport, an ambition to play at a higher level (high school, college, professionally), a willingness to play for their teammates, and a desire to strive for success on and off the field; particularly academically.
However, we are not financially able to purchase all the necessary equipment and tools that are necessary to best prepare the kids in the manner that we are capable of, and have set forth in our mandate.
The biggest obstacle that we face in the fall when it gets darker much earlier is the ability to train beyond 5:00PM (which is when we normally start training) without the use of flood lights. We do not own a field and currently use an Essex County field in West Orange as our primary training base and to play our small sided games. The field does not have lighting and as such we struggle to get a proper practice session in during the fall season.
We currently have more than 50 boys and girls in our club who have been benefiting immensely from the services that we provide through our soccer, tutoring and mentorship programs. To be able to properly illuminate our soccer field we would need eight iLite Inflatable Floodlights, which cost $753.10 each.
Your kind tax deductible sponsorship of the $6,024.80 it costs to buy the eight lights (or any portion thereof) will go a far way in helping us to continue to positively impact the lives of the many kids who turn to ASA to learn how to play soccer and to become better students and morally upstanding citizens.
