Tracy's Kidney Donation
Donation protected
For those of you that may not know Tracy, and for those who do but may not know this, let me tell you a little about her. She has always had a heart of gold, going out of her way to help those in need. All her grown life she has been donating her free time (which doesn't really exist) to helping others. She is passionate about animals, and is always taking strays into her home, fostering them, paying for their vet bills and food, and nursing them back to health before finding new homes for them. She is always reaching out to those in need, helping families whose homes were destroyed by fire or families who couldn't afford clothing, food or diapers for their babies. She also helps the homeless people in her area, collecting warm clothing, food and toiletries. These are just a few examples of her trying to make the world we live in a better place. She is literally the most selfless person I know.
Continuing to want to help others, she is in the process of donating one of her kidneys, hopefully to a child in need. She has gone through all the testing and has been approved to donate if all goes as planned, in May. Tracy's kidney donation journey started when she had heard of a little girl in need of a kidney, and was tested to see if she was a match. Unfortunately, she was not a match for Mary Ashley (pictured above with Tracy), who is still awaiting a kidney while on dialysis. Although she was not a match for Mary Ashley, she decided to continue on this journey and still donate a kidney to someone in need. Ninety seven percent living donors give an organ to a family member or someone they are emotionally attached to. Tracy on the other hand is part of just three percent of donors who do such a selfless act and give up an organ to a complete stranger in an effort to save their life.
Tracy has been raising money on her own to help cover some of the expenses she will incur while having to stay in Charleston, S.C., where the procedure will take place. She needs to stay in the area for three weeks afterwards for close follow up. The operation and hospital costs are covered but she will still need to pay out of pocket for a place to stay, food, travel expenses and she will need to pay a pet sitter to care for her pets while she is away.
Tracy is truly an angel in disguise and never looks for anyone to help HER. She didn't want to make a Go Fund Me page for herself because that's just the way she is! If anyone deserves a little help right now, it is her! Any money that may be raised that is not needed for her direct needs will be donated to Mary Ashley's family to help with their bills. No amount is too small, anything would be greatly appreciated. Let's all show our support for Tracy in HER time of need. Thank you, in advance.
