On October 7, 2015, we installed 25 cones topped with sunflowers on a notoriously dicey stretch of Chrystie Street in Manhattan, instantly creating a protected bike lane where there previously was only a painted buffer. (You can read about it at Gothamist and Streetsblog .)
We followed up this action with an installation on the Carlton Avenue Bridge in Brooklyn, again providing basic protection on a buffered bike lane that's frequently obstructed by vans and trucks.
With your help we can continue to demonstrate what is possible with little more than traffic cones... and, of course, flowers.
While we will remain anonymous for now, rest assured that every penny we receive through this campaign will be turned right around and put back into projects that promote safety for people on bikes and on foot.
Thank you for your support!
