Trapped in Florida. Help bring Debbie Home.
Donation protected
It happened so quick. One day we were planning on visiting the Alamo in our motorhome. The next day, my wife, Debbie, was in the emergency room n Florida. She appeared to be dying.
Debbie was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at an early age. But she never gave up. Her smile never disappeared. The doctors had explained new environments were detrimental. Deb wanted to travel. She loves this country. So why not travel by motorhome? With the doctor’s blessings, we drove to Florida and planned on making new memories for every one that she lost.
She was admitted to the hospital. A bladder infection had put the Alzheimer’s in full throttle. Just the day before, Deb was walking. Enjoying life with a smile and a hello to everyone she met. She is now in a nursing home. She hasn’t given up. She has started to talk again. She can now move her fingers.
I was never a caring person. I learned to be one. It was emotional tiring to change from her husband, her soulmate to her caregiver, her CNA. I truly have a new appreciation for CNA’s.
We were going to be snowbirds. Deb and I love Florida. But she wanted to be able to visit her children. As well as her mother, her sisters and her brother. I want to bring Debbie home to Connecticut. Before she leaves us. For our children’s sake. But that is going to cost money. Attorney’s are expensive. I'm not going to give up. Your donations can.
The Plan
Debbie needs to return to Connecticut. She needs to see her daughters and her family. The plan is to hire an attorney in both Florida and Connecticut so I can make this happen. Debbie needs to leave Florida.
Your Help
Contributions will help cover legal expense in both Florida and Connecticut so I can bring Debbie home. I have been driving over two hours to see my wife. I have been spending over $40 every two days in gasoline. I have numerous campground reservation deposits that have to be cancelled. I will lose most of the deposits as they have all been pre-paid. I will have to pay for storage in Florida to park my Motorhome while I fly to Connecticut to meet with Attorneys. The emotional stress is killing me. My hair has been falling out. Your donations will help pay for my medical care.https://www.brookdale.com/en/brookdale-life/blogs/2018/04/the-cost-of-caregiving.html
