Trinity Neighborhood Garden
Donation protected
We at Trinity Episcopal Church (845 Chestnut, Escondido, CA 92025) are turning our vacant lot into a vibrant community garden. The garden will provide a place for our neighbors in Old Escondido, and across North County, to grow delicious and nutritious fruit and vegetables, get to know their neighbors, learn, teach, and get dirty.
Our $15K budget includes these items that your donation will directly fund:
* (40) Lumber border for an in-ground garden plot ($30)
* (20) Load of mulch or decomposed granite ($50)
* (5) Irrigation pipe and fittings for 10 garden boxes ($100)
* (10) Lumber for an accessible above-ground garden box ($150)
* Lumber for garden gates ($300)
* (2) Picnic bench ($500)
* Perimeter fence ($750)
* Shade structure ($1200)
* Garden shed ($2000)
A quarterly fee of $25 for each plot will cover the cost of water and maintenance. Sponsored plots will be available for those who have financial hardship but wish to learn to garden.
Our goals are to build an intergenerational community and share produce with families in need. The garden’s 40 ground-level plots (4′ x 12′) and 10 accessible raised beds (4′ x 4′) will support these goals.
Projected opening: Spring 2017. The city of Escondido has approved our detailed plan, and now we're ready to break ground and start building. Your donation will help make the garden a reality.
Thank you for your support! If you would like to sign up for a garden plot or become involved in other ways, please visit our website: http://www.trinitygarden.org.
