My name is Stephanie Snook, I am currently finishing my B.S. in environmental science and I am heading to Africa to work with a Wilderness refuge that takes in wounded animals and in as many cases as possible nurses them back to health and takes them back to the wild. My goal in life has always been to take care of the species that can no longer protect themselves from the human race, that is my drive and my passion. With this passion comes a new hope, a chance to rewild the world and recapture the beauty in nature that is in every person. This trip is the first step to my dream of learning how to care for creatures that are critically endangered due to poaching, and habitat loss. With the knowledge I gain I hope to take it and educate people on the importance of saving our wilderness, and the biodiversity that comes with it. The Lilongwe Wildlife Trust is a trusted organization but like with many refuge centers it is in need of volunteers and money to keep the animals in their care healthy and hopefully be able to make them wild once again.
The trip alone costs about $3000 for room and board and meals for one month. This costs does not inclue shots, or plane tickets. Any donations would help carry out a passion to do good work for an organization that deserves it. The creatures on this planet deserve a chance at living again, any donations would go strictly to that cause. I will create a blog that I will update as often as I have internet access, and keep everyone who helped with this trip informed on what is happening, pictures of the animals in care, and what is being done to help them.
