Thank you so much for your interest in my amazing son Tyler Daillak. Ty is a vivacious 10 year old 5th grader at Bauer Speck Elementary in Paso Robles, CA who has a passion for running! Ty was diagnosed on the Autism spectrum at an early age, and has always been overflowing with energy. We were fortunate enough to get Ty involved in the Cross Country and Track&Field programs that were provided by his school district. Through those programs Ty has been able to harness all his extra energy and use it constructively in his running. Over the last 2 years, Ty has progressed his running to competing in 5k races, the vast majority of which he has won for his age group! If it was up to Ty, he would run a race every weekend! Ty is currently involved in the USA Track and Field Cross Country Junior Olympics. He has recently placed 5th in the 3000m race in the Pacific Association Championship on 11/19/17, and placed 4th in the Regional Championship on 11/26/17. Ty also ran in the National Championship meet in Tallahassee, FL on 12/9/17 and placed 76th out of a field of about 400 of the country's best runners. Crazy to think how far he's come in such a short time! Nothing makes me happier than to see my little guy so proud and smiling from ear to ear after finishing a race! However, with an average $25-30 entry fee for each 5k run, costs for gas, and now additional costs for traveling to his Junior Olympic events, all these things have proven to be quite expensive. For example, the airfare, hotels, and car rental for Ty and I at Tallahassee event has cost more than $2500! Despite the costs, I hope to keep Ty running and sharing those big smiles, amazing achievements, and acting as a positive example for other kids in his situation for as long as possible! I would greatly appreciate any help I can receive to keep him going! Thank you for your help!!!
