You've probably read some of Tyrone Colbert's
You probably have read some of Tyrone Colbert's articles, our incarcerated contributor. He has written for Port Of Harlem magazine for more than 19 years and you may have wondered how you can contribute to his legal endeavors. Well, you can now.
The U.S. Army veteran has learned that he is eligible for a drug treatment program that could assist him towards a more timely release. The drug treatment program, 8-505 and 8-507, can last between three to 18 months. Colbert is hoping to retain attorney Daniel Ginsburg of Rockville to guide him through the legalities.
The Washington, DC native has been using money he has saved working in the prison’s furniture plant to pay for Ginsburg’s assistance. Colbert and his girlfriend Ivy, are out to raise $6,000 by Friday, May 31. They have raised nearly $2,500. They need $3,500 more.
Colbert said, "On my risk assessment last year, it was indicated that I was a low risk of reoffending and re-arrest. So, I hope this information will convince my Port Of Harlem readers to support my legal endeavors."
Thanks for giving hope at a second chance at life,
Tyrone (T. Michael Colbert)
