I will make you an original piece of art for your donations to obtain educational and recreational resources for Magugu Primary school in Ingwavuma South Africa.
Recently I traveled to Africa to visit my girlfriend, Mikaila, who is volunteering there for 2 years. During the week days I would spend my time building relationships with the children of Magugu Primary school grades K-7. I informed them about our culture through music, visual art, reading and writing and they schooled me on theres. Day after day I would overhear the innocent 6th grade gossip building up to regional melodies from shoeless 7 year olds. They have a very unique culture. Reusing and repurposing share a fascinating affair in the village of Ingwavuma. The children are very clever when it comes to repurposing seemingly forgotten rubbish. Bread bags are married, then repeatedly bound tightly together to make soccer balls, and empty chip bags are sliced and origamically folded into a salty ring or bracelet.These children have helped me discover the genuine happiness I have longed for. They also showed me how blessed I was to grow up with such a vast array of opportunistic wealth. Our goal is to raise enough money to provide the learners of Magugu Primary School with resources and supplies which they cannot obtain on their own.
What we are trying to gather:
Two computers/ learning software and one projector.
Computers are amazing learning instruments. They provide residual knowledge and opportunity through intrigue and paired with a projector they create a self organized learning environment.
Reusable water bottles
This serves not only a functional purpose but as a way to push a new societal norm positive for the environment.
Sports equipment
Soccer balls, soccer nets, and net balls. If possible, even some jerseys for sports day.
School/ art supplies
Pens and pencils. paper, markers, crayons, etc. The basics for elementary school art class.
Creating art has been a major passion of mine for many years. It is not until I am writing this now for you that I realize the true value and potential of my work. It finally has a tangible purpose to justify a monetary value. I feel my creativity being knit with a real purpose more than itself's existence. I can use it not only for aesthetic pleasure or cerebral enlightenment, but as a physical means to help others.
Every child deserves the opportunity to be creative, artistic, competitive, and have a prosperous learning environment. This is where we need you! With your help I believe we can truly impact the lives of these children who are longing for new opportunities and resources. I will create an awesome picture for you, so please help this community so full of love, who changed my life forever.
