The Umoja Sakhu Learning Community (USLC) at American River College (ARC) in Sacramento, CA is a program dedicated to increasing the success, self-actualization and degree attainment for African American and other students.
Scholars in USLC repeatedly demonstrate their ability to excel. We’d like to award excellence and support students that need a little extra help. To sustain the quality and increase the level of services, we need your financial support to fund the following:
· Scholarships for students
· Student resources such as book vouchers and meal vouchers
· Conferences that build community and develop leadership among students across the state
· University tours and cultural enrichment activities (museums, theater productions, etc.)
· Professional development for staff
· Resources to increase program capacity
