Help us set a man on fire in the name of Nic Cage

“We hope for better things; it shall arise from the ashes.”

Detroit’s motto is not all that dissimilar to the tagline to Nicolas Cage’s 2011 sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengence — He rides again. As will we. We are Nicolas UnCaged and this is our sixth sequel. And we need your help in making history.

What is money if for if not for this — setting the world record for: the most consecutive jumping jack (full body burn).  In other words, setting a man, a full man, on fire. He will then attempt to do more than 30 jumping jacks, while fully engulfed in flames.  And not just any man.  Acclaimed stunt man, pyrotechnic specialist, and stuntman to our one true god. Stunt man to Cage, Schuyler White, will attempt a world record (legally and with the assistance of local fire safety professionals) while we continue in our tradition of throwing the world’s premiere Nicolas Cage appreciation celebration — UnCaged 6(6)6 .

The World Record attempt portion of the evening will take place at Veterans Park in hamtramck at approximately 6pm on Saturday, February 23, and will be open to the public-- free of charge. 

What is the money for? Well, a few very important things:
First, the cost of the burn. Just to burn a man, it will cost $3,500 in supplies, materials, and safety measures.
City permits and fees will total approximately $2500 and other various costs will add an additional $500
This brings the grand total cost of the burn to approximately $6500
If we do not meet our goal or should we surpass it, we will donate the full/remaining amount to the Hamtramck Fire Department. 

Following the off-site world record attempt, Nicolas Uncaged 6 will take place in Hamtramck (the entire world in 2-square-miles) at Planet Ant — a non-profit multi-use community performance space. This year's theme, however, is far less wholesome. This year it’s all about Hell. Fire. Hellfire. Flames. Burning. Setting a guy on fire and also making sure to not set anyone else on fire because that would be irresponsible.

Nicolas UnCaged 6 will screen both Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance and the wildly underappreciated Drive Angry (a film that may or may not have gone straight to DVD and a film that may or may not involve intercourse and a gunfight simultaneously.) Per usual, we will offer food for purchase, a social hour, as well as a talent and appreciation segment where we invite everyone and anyone to perform a prepared song, monologue, or a story about the guy who starred in “at least 93” movies (at least 17 of them involving fire.) The event will roll out some thematic drink specials, a photo booth, prizes for the person who best embodies the spirit of Cage through costume and attitude, and a priceless opportunity to socialize with over 300 people who have Cage in common.
