Can 5 days of unconditional love change a life? We will be putting that to the test, again in 2016 in Fair Oaks, Ca from Dec 12th - Dec 17th.
For the 3rd year in a row we are gearing up to change the lives of 100 homeless people in Sacramento, Ca this Christmas season. We will be opening up our facility (www.aboutnewlife.com) December 12th - 17th to the homeless men and woman who are enrolled in the winter sanctuary program (www.sacramentostepsforward.org). We purpose to provide each guest with a surprise filled week that will provide the hope and inspiration needed to produce life altering change in each guest.
A trick up our sleeve: The Winter Sanctuary program reached out to us to see if we would provide a week's worth of food and shelter for the guests but that will only be the beginning of what we plan to provide each night! Here is a small taste of what we have planned for our guests:
-Home cooked meal by our own team of chef's each night followed by an evening of activities and entertainment.
-Friendly volunteers ready to build relationships with each guest through board games, a resume building station, letter writing station, ect..
-We have rented portable showers so our guests can take hot showers.
-A "thrift store" that each guest will get to "shop" at before their shower allowing them to hand pick gently used pants, shirt, sweatshirt as well as brand new socks, under garments, shower slippers, clean towels and a hygiene kit (all at no cost of course).
-Personal laundry service so we can clean, fold and return the clothes they currently own.
-Hair Cuts, manicure & pedicure stations
-Massage therapy station
-Individual cots with personalized welcome notes each night.
-A red carpet, one of a kind, royal banquet on the final evening that will melt your heart & take your breath away! After a week of pampering our guests each one will receive a brand new (winter appropriate) outfit for the banquet and a personal escort to their table. We dare you try and pick out the homeless from the crowd. You wont be able to!
-A personalized Christmas package for each guest that will include several practical items as well as meaningful items.
*Estimated cost per person for the above is $150.00. All funds donated will go directly towards this project.
