United for Juan
Donation protected
Our good friend Juan was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia in December of 2017 that he has undergone 2 rounds of chemo without total success for. He started immunotherapy March 15th to start the road to stem cell transplant, which will involve total body radiation, more chemo, donor cell transplant, followed by ~100 days of being kept away from friends and family in San Francisco, with his wife Kristi as a 24 hour dedicated caregiver, making multiple trips to the hospital every week to monitor for Graft Versus Host Disease, which can be very very serious, sometimes fatal. He will not be able to work during this time and will not be able to be around their twins or most of their other family either. Even after that 100 or so days life will take a long time to get back to normal. They have medical insurance but the cost of copays, out of pocket expenses, deductibles, the transplant and 20+ associated meds, and not to mention just keeping the house bills going is incredibly expensive. They are a wonderful family who could really use some help during this difficult time. Any donations are much appreciated!
