Help a Humble Heart Recover

Janell is a strong woman of faith, an amazing single mother, and the best sister we could have ever asked for. Her daughter (my niece) is 17 years old, graduating this June as her class valedictorian, on the principals honor roll, from a private Christian school. Much like her mother, she is nothing short of amazing.
My sister Janell was born with a heart disease in the Marfan syndrome family. We have always known that one day she would need to have surgery, and that one day arose quickly on February 4th, 2015.
As Janell was being prepared for surgery, the doctors discovered she had some anomalies (very rare heart defects) with her heart, in addition to the disease she was born with. It didn’t come as much of a surprise to me that she was categorized with 1% of the world’s population because of those anomalies. God made her extra special. To say that He gave my sister the biggest, and most humble heart ever, is an understatement.
My entire family packed into a hospital waiting room for what would be the beginning of a long 16 hours. Looking back, we thought that that day was going to be the hardest day of our lives. It was no doubt a hard one, but the hardest days for Janell we’re in the weeks that followed. During surgery one of Janell’s vocal cords was paralyzed making it very difficult for her to speak at all. Then, Janell developed an infection under her incision and on February 26, 2015, Janell had to have another surgery. This one was not as evasive as the first, but serious. She came out of this surgery with a special wound-vac on her chest, and 24-hour IV antibiotics.
I wish I could end here, I wish I could write out that she is doing great now! But I can’t. This time in Janell’s life has been harder than she ever imagined. The physical pain of everything going on with her body is not something she could have prepared for. Today is April 8th and her body is still fighting something, the doctors are talking about a 3rd surgery.
On top of all the complications, physical troubles, and pain, Janell has a lot of financial struggles. Right now there is just not a clear end in sight. Currently Janell has no source of income, she exhausted all of her state disability benefits and she has now begun the process of applying for permanent benefits. We’re told the wait can be at least 3 months. Please help my sister in any way you can. God is amazing, and your prayers will go far! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! God Bless you all!
