Quinlan Cancer Fund

The Quinlan family, Jimmy and Louise and their sons, James and Dan, have endured many tragedies in recent years. Louise has been disabled for several years as a result of life threatening pulmonary emboli and the damage they caused. Despite this, she's been actively involved in her church, the Parent Associations of both PS 222 and IS 278 and the needs of the Marine Park Community. Jimmy, a Postal Police Officer, has been the sole breadwinner until now. Always very healthy, he was recently diagnosed with Stage IV throat cancer. He has continued to work full time throughout his treatment but now the grueling pace of chemotherapy and daily radiation has begun to take its toll.
While staying at home during this process, the sick pay he'll receive will be a fraction of their normal income; not enough to pay the monthly bills and certainly not enough for all the additional expenses this illness brings with it. In addition to a significant loss of income, their expenses have increased tremendously - from medical bills, to the daily trips to Sloan Kettering in the city, to medical and nutritional aids. The effects of this tragic illness could blossom into a second disaster of financial devastation for the family. The additional stress is the last thing they need right now and the last thing Jimmy needs while trying to recover. As their close friends and family, we've started this page to raise funds to help Jimmy concentrate on his treatments so that his body can be healed and in order for them to meet their financial obligations without worry and fear.
We are asking our friends, family and all of those who have been touched by the Quinlan family to help if you can with any amount, small or large. They have been a generous and valuable addition to our community and we hope you will help us to help them through this devastating experience.
