Our dearest friend and classmate, Lorie Volker was diagnosed with Stage 4 High Grade Pleomorphic Sarcoma of the Spine, Femur, and Ribs. Lorie is one of the most positive, Genuine, and generous people I have ever meet. She probably will say, “There are so many people out there that need this more than I do!” She would give the shirt off her back to a stranger in need, wait she probably already has!! Lorie has been a constant and dedicated friend to me for almost 30 years. Most of my special memories have Lorie involved in some way. I am sure that she has been that for all of you reading this. Her Loving, Caring, and “Life of the Party” spirit draws you in and keeps you close to her forever.
As Lorie embarks on this Journey of KICKING SARCOMA’s BUTT. She will be traveling to numerous world renowned Cancer Centers in the United States. Some of these facilities will require multiple visits and possibly extended periods of time. She will be starting out by receiving radiation and chemotherapy at the University of Michigan. As all of you know, her loving family is right by her side and are just as determined as she is!!!
Being that Lorie has touched so many of our lives in so many ways, I ask you to cushion any unneeded stress that can occur financially due to the travel and treatment of cancer for her and her family!
