Operation Bringing Bheri Home

Donation protected
On December 9th, 2015, Bheri Werntz, a longtime Burbank resident, our Dad, Grandfather, Husband, Brother and Friend was shot twice in front of his home he shares with his wife and youngest son Weston. It was a random act of violence that has changed our lives forever.
His family, Cris his wife, children Weston, Jason and wife Jeana, Jennifer her husband Bert along with Bheri's grandchildren Dillon, Taylor & Ryder as well as his sister Ralee and Marie have remained by his side day and night.
Bheri's injuries are severe and critical, he was shot once in the arm that went through and through. The second shot entered his abdomin on the left, ricocheted off his ribbed causing a great deal of destruction to his spleen, kidney, instine and colon, and exited out his back. He was brought in alert and able to communicate with medical team, and rushed into surgery.
Surgery 1... Review and evaluate damage, repair what they can and get out. They successfully removed spleen, and attempted repairs to kidney, Bheri too critical to do any more than that. Surgery 2... Make repairs to kidney evaluate intestine and rest colon. Colon and kidney are most severe injuries. Surgey 3... Kidney looks better, but now dealing with infection and low BP. Surgery 4... Attempt to reconnect organs, colon still trouble zone numerous drains.... All this continues Bheris has had over a dozen, surgeries procedures and his miracle team, were and are continuing to work around the clock in caring for Bheri and keeping him alive. That's a miracle in itself. We adore his surgeons and team, we have never seen such and amazing group of individuals. Bheri is making progress and finally at the 45 day mark, he is finally alert more and attempting to communicate. Bheri has a long road to recovery ahead, he will require a great deal physical therapy and is not out of the woods yet, we continue to pray and seek support from our community. If you are able to donate to our cause, our family would greatly appreciate it. The love and support has been amazing. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
