Vanessa Bishop UPDATE:
Update from her mom:
Our hearts are refreshed by your outpouring of love after Vanessa's recent new brain tumor.
It was not the news we had hoped for, of course.
But, as an old friend reminded me, "All things work together for good, to those who love GOD, to those who are the called according to HIS purpose." Romans 8:28.
I recently told GOD, "I don't know what YOU are doing , but I don't like it." You know GOD wants us to be honest when we pray. Besides, HE knows your thoughts, so why try to fool HIM.?
Vanessa had an MRI of her spine. It showed no tumors, but it did show evidence that the cancer cells had moved into her spine. I had concern of this, because she has been complaining of her butt hurting. I thought it was because of sitting in a wheelchair for a year.
So, a new tumor was shown in her MRI of her brain and it is located near her optic nerve and her pituitary. This is very serious.
Her Cyberknife doctor, and her neurosurgeon, the Tumor Board and Pediatric Tumor Board at Johns Hopkins, and Dr. Bryzynski from the Bryzynski Clinc in Houston specializing in Brain Tumors, and Dr. Kasari (California) have all agreed that Vanessa needs immediate cranial spinal radiation. We were given an option of Proton Therapy.
(And Hopkins would make the arrangements for us elsewhere, because they do not have Proton Therapy at Hopkins. Dr. Kasari said Proton Therapy is so expensive that it takes a long time to get approved by insurance. We love the Proton Therapy idea, however because time is of the essence, we have decided with guidance from Dr. Kasari, that radiation is Vanessa's only option.)
So, we are praying we can start her radiation this week. We need to eradicate the tumor as well as the cancer cells in her spine. She has been complaining of headaches as well.
I tell you these details because I know those of you who care and who pray specifically for her daily.
You may look at her pic and say she looks great and she feels great, but cancer can change all of that very quickly.
PRAYER WARRIORS:
Please pray for Vanessa to gave successful radiation to destroy every single medulla blasthoma cell in her body.
Please pray for limited side effects from the radiation.
Please pray for Vanessa's immune system to be strong.
Please pray for her tumor not to have any effect on her optic nerve or her pituitary.
Our family needs your prayers.
Thank you.
May GOD be glorified.

This is Vanessa Bishop.

If you have had the opportunity to meet her you would know instantly that she is the biggest light in this world. Everyone who meets her is drawn to her in a moment. She is in need of our help now and I know she would do the same for any of us if the table was turned.

Vanessa has a rare brain tumor, Medullablastoma on her brain stem and had surgery at John Hopkins University Hospital on Friday June 3rd.

Vanessa Bishop has come so far in the 10 months since her brain tumor surgery last spring. She has proven to so many how good God is and how well the alternative treatments are working. Her spine and the rest of her brain are free from cancer at the amazement of her doctors. They say keep doing what you are doing! Just working on the remaining part that is small but still there.. The costs continue to add up with the constant monitoring and testing and keeping up with her protocols.. Please help us support this amazing woman in her efforts to stay cancer free. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your generous heart in this matter. Please share this need with your friends and family.

She is the daughter of Jim and Vicki Bishop pastor of Johnstontown Bible Church in WV.

Your prayers and good vibes will be felt by her for sure.
