11 yr old Alex who was hit by a car
Donation protected
Dear friends,
On Thursday, April 27, 11-year-old Alex Wigg was riding his bicycle to school. He never made it .
While riding in a marked crosswalk Alex was hit by a car. He suffered traumatic brain injury and is currently in ICU at Las Vegas’ UMC Children’s Hospital.
We are currently watching, waiting and gearing up to support Alex during the next critical 48 hours and then with the care he will need to regain his active, vibrant life.
A star swimmer at the Las Vegas Swim Club and straight-A student at Givens Elementary, Alex is a Las Vegas native who loves his family and community – swimming, summer camps, playing with his friends and his sister – Alex is a kind, compassionate, brilliant boy, who needs our help.
We don’t know what the next days, weeks or months will entail for Alex. But we know they will be challenging. And we know the cost of the care Alex needs right now, has already received and what he will require in the future is sure to be daunting. Alex and his family will need their friends, family and community around them for support.
With limited and zero paid time off available to his parents and mounting medical bills, we are asking for your support so that his family can spend as much time at his bedside as possible and get Alex the care that he needs.
Any donations will be used for Alex’s care and recovery and to support his family as they stay at his side.
Thank you so much for the love and support you’ve already sent Alex’s way. We are so touched by the way our community has rallied around Alex and we are tremendously grateful for your continued love.
We will update this page as more information on Alex's condition becomes available.
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Kate Whiteley, I have known Alex since birth and have been a friend of Jena and Jason's since their move to Las Vegas. I am creating this campaign on behalf of Alex's family.... any funds will go directly to them.
