Baby Almeera's Medical Costs

Baby Almeera is 7-months old. She was rushed to hospital on Wednesday with a very high fever and respiratory distress. Her fontenelles were buldging. Tests later confirmed that she has severe pneumonia with sepsis. The pneumonia has caused inflammation around her heart. She is unable to breath without oxygen and she stopped breathing 3 times in one night. She has under gone a blood transfusion and they are doing further tests to investigate if she has a genetic blood disorder called Beta Thalassemia, which requires a specialist consultant. It may mean that Almeera will require ongoing monitoring and potential blood transfusions for the rest of her life.

Almeera's parents, Daniel an Australian and Sonia an Indonesian, initially thought that Almeera would be covered under Daniel's medical insurance, this however is not the case and the insurance company are refusing to cover her. With some improvement in her condition, she may need a medi vac back to Australia to seek further medical assistance. As you could imagine, all of this is coming at quite the cost and has put a financial strain on her family. Please help us ease the stress on Daniel and Sonia and support baby Almeera on her long road to recovery by donating.

Any left over funds  will be donated to the Princess Margaret Hospital for Children in Perth.
