Ricardo Salgado passed early Friday morning, 12/11/15, after crashing his car into a lamp post, police said.
Ricardo Salgado of Santa Ana was found dead by Tustin police and Orange County shortly before 1:15 a.m. after he crashed his car near the intersection of Valencia and Red Hill avenues.
Salgado was speeding in a Honda before he crashed into a lamp post on westbound Valencia Avenue, just east of Red Hill Avenue, police Sgt. Andy Birozy said.
It was not known what direction Salgado was heading before the crash and whether he was intoxicated, but investigators did suspect that speed was a factor.
“A man who appeared to be in his 20s was trapped inside the vehicle when firefighter paramedics arrived,” OCFA Capt. Steve Concialdi said. “They hooked him up to a cardiac monitor, but unfortunately he was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Ricky was a genuine guy who attended Valley High School, loved soccer and was one of the most friendliest, caring & funny friend to many Valley High School students.
