VeteransRespond to ApacheStronghold

Friends, we will be deploying to Apache Stronghold in Arizona to show solidatrity with the San Carolos Apache Tribe. Our mission is a healing mission for our VeteranRepsonder's that have been dealing with the trauma surounding the final days at Standing Rock. We have been welcomed at Apache Stronghold for a spiritual healing and cleansing experience. Our mission to Apache Stronghold is just as much for our VeteranResponders as it is for the people of Oak Flats and the San Carlos Apache Tribe. We will be participating in traditional ceremonies such as a sweat lodge as well as monitoring some of the mining operations taking place and gathering further knowledge about the historical and spiritual significance of Oak Flats and the surrounding area.
We are asking for $7,000 to cover travel costs, two tents from Scout Bell Tent (Veteran owned, eco-friendly tent company), food and firewood donation for camp, a Goal Zero Yeti 400 for power solutions and a small emergency fund in case of flat tires or emergency travel home.
Travel for Southern California Team -- $1,000
Travel for Texas Team -- $1,000
Travel for Pacific Northwest Team -- $1,000
Stout Bell Tent x2 -- $1,800
Food donation for camp -- $1,000
Goal Zero Yeti 400 -- $660
Emergency fund -- $540
As always we will be keeping our community informed on our mission via our Facebook page. We encourage you all to do research on the fight at Apache Stronghold to stop mining operations from desecrating holy sites, destroying pristine public lands and polluting long relied upon water sources. Thank you for the continued support.
This GoFundMe is being moderated by Mark Sanderson, Executive Director of Veterans Respond and all funds will be deposited into a Navy Federal Credit Union account in his name. Funds donated will be used directly for travel first then equipment second.
