Veterinary Bills for Harley

Hi there. My name is Nicole, I'm the proud pet mother to three beautiful cats. Harley, his littermate, Quinn, and a rescue, Nyx. I've had all three of them for the last two years, gotten after my three previous cats all passed away within a month of each other.  But, it's Harley we're worried about. Since Saturday (3/16) he has been vomiting and not eating or drinking anything. We've taken him to the vet three times now, they've pumped him full of fluids to keep him from dehydration, they've put him on antinausea medication to keep from vomiting and general antibiotics, since he had a fever. If you have pets of your own, you know how much vet bills can cost. At this point, we've spent over $1,000 on visits already between X-rays, blood work, medications, and the visits themselves. He isn't getting better. And at this point, the only real option we have left is exploratory surgery to see if there's an obstruction in his intestines. We were quoted $2,000 for the surgery. I've considered everything from financial aid and charity organizations to just relinquishing ownership of him to see if a shelter or hospital could treat him and find him a new home. I would rather he get the help he needs and find a new family than to suffer because we can't do what needs to be done. But considering this is a major surgery, shelters and hospitals would rather euthanize him. We want to avoid having him put down since he's only two. Plus, we love him and would much rather have him alive with us. The purpose of this is I figured I'd try and appeal to the masses and generous people out there who might be willing and capable of helping us get Harley the medical attention he needs. We love him, he's not just a cat to us, he's a much beloved member of our family. We just want him to go back to being the cuddly little lovebug that he normally is.
