Recovery from a CATEastrophe

Andy and Andrew Cate are my father and brother. On Saturday, September 19th around 2:30 am they were awoken by smoke alarms and pounding on their apartment door. My father opened his bedroom door to an incredible amount of smoke and knew immediately that their apartment building had caught on fire. He woke up my brother and they got out of the buliding as quickly as possible. From that point on they could only watch as their whole lives literally went up in flames. They learned that the apartment directly below them had caught fire and their entire building was a total loss. My dad, Andy, made it out with his keys and wallet and my brother, Andrew, had nothing but the clothes and shoes on his body. Andrew's keys, cell phone and wallet were all left inside the apartment. The American Red Cross quickly arrived on site as did several family members to provide the immediate necessitites. My cousin Ashley, auntie Ann and mother Mary sprung into action making sure they had some clothes, a pair of shoes, tolietries, some cash and a way to communicate. The Red Cross began to provide resources about next steps and putting my father and brother in touch with right people.
The middle floor of this builidng belongs to my father and brother. The darkest black in the center, the balcony to its right and windows to its left are their apartment. They have resided here together for almost 7 years.
My father and brother are two of the hardest working, most loyal and selfless people I know. They have both reached out to countless others in times of need and have personally assisted me and my own family during some of the most difficult and challenging times of my life. When I tell you they have nothing now, I promise it is no exaggeration. With the exception of their cars, every possession, every memory, every item ever owned is just gone. I can not imagine what I would do if I lost everything I own, but I promise you, my father and my brother would be the first people there to help me figure it out.
Now is the time for action. The time for those who know and love Andy and Andrew to lend a helping hand and rally around them so they can "Recover from a CATEastrophe". I ask for anyone who can spare even a small donation to find it in your heart to donate to them. Every donation small and large helps. I know they will greatly appreciate any and all support.
