ABOUT THIS CAMPAIGN
Vicki is an extraordinary woman. ( Vicki is on the right side of the photo ) She is kind and loving with a great sense of humor. She's never had any health problems and has usually enjoyed great health. She has always been a stay-at-home mom with her teenage daughter and has led a life full of family, faith and fun.
But she recently was diagnosed with ALS. Within months, the diesease took over her body and she is now In a motorized wheel chair which her husband built a ramp for so she could get from the front door to the van. She can no longer feed herself, brush her own hair, walk or even communicate verbally very well. All communication is done by pointing to letters on a piece of paper, which can be very difficult and frustrating.
Her husband works full time and can not afford to stay at home to take care of her. They have hired two health care providers. One for daytime and one for evening . This is a very expensive need and one that is not covered by insurance .Vicki takes many expensive medications trying to subdue the intense pain and cramping, another expense not all covered by insurance. They also had to buy a handicap van for her to ride in.
Even on the hardest days Vicki remains herself. Her mind is not effected by the disease at all, only her communication and motor skills. She still smiles and laughs and makes frequent jokes. And her faith is carrying her through each day.
We ask that you donate whatever you can, every little bit helps to cover the medical expenses. We also ask for you to keep Vicki and her family in your prayers! We know that all things are possible with God! We thank you so much and please share this with your friends.
