Support Victor Romero's Fight

I't's very hard to hear that someone you know is going thru some tough times.  What do you do?  What do you say?  I personally justt started to cry.  The news of my friends reason for not having felt fine the last couple of days hitting me like a ton of bricks.  I could not believe it.  Why do bad things happen to good people?

My friend Victor Romero is 32 years old.  He will be married to his high school sweetheart Reina for two years in April.  He was diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic leukemia on December 20th 2016.  His doctors advised he should start treatment immediately and so he spent Christmas and New Years in the hospital.  Within one month of his diagnosis he has undergone multiple Chemo theraphy sessions, 4 spinal taps (fluid removed from his spine and replaced with chemo) and 3 bone marrow biopsies (drilling into his hip bone).  He has also recently been diagnosed with Gout (one of the most painful forms of arthritis).  He has been in and out of the ER because of severe pain that even morphine does not seem to help him with.  His immune system is so weak that Doctors are constantly worried he will get an infection from something at the hospital.  As of right now he is waiting for results from City of Hope hospital to see if he needs a bone marrow transplant.  We pray that he does not because that would be a very difficult process for him.

Sadly, this is not the first time cancer has touched Victor and his family.  His mother is a breast cancer survivor and at this very moment Victor's uncle is going thru his own battle (he was diagnosed in Nov. 2016).  To say that life has not been easy for this family is an understatement.  Victor does currently have insurance thru his job, unfortunately it will only cover him for a short period of time and his treatment is scheduled to last longer than he will be covered for.  As his primary caretaker his wife is also unable to work her full time job.  Needless to say, their income has been severely affected and the growing medical expenses are weighing heavily on their shoulders.

At this time I am asking for your help in providing Victor some peace of mind when it comes to his growing financial debt associated with his treatment.  In all honesty this is the best possible way we can all actually help.  Nobody can take his place, this is his battle alone and he needs to focus on his tretment.  Help him carry the financial burden that no family should have to worry about.

We are hoping to raise as much as possible and any donation would make a difference.  Victor is undeniably strong, and he will fight this disease like no other.  On behalf of Victor and his family, I would like to thank you for your prayers and donations.  Please give any amount that your heart guides you and your budget can afford.  Every dollar helps!!!
