Firehawk Helping Indigenous People

I am a native of the Echota Cherokee Tribe of Alabama, a mother of five, and currently a student at Wallace State Community College.  I will graduate this spring from the Human Services program with degrees in Substance Abuse/Addiction Counseling and as a Mental Health Technician.

I've had the honor of being invited to Aotearoa, New Zealand to attend and present at the Two Feathers International "Indigenous Peoples Must Survive" Series.  My hope is that through my experience, knowledge and participation in the tour I will bring awareness to alcohol and drug misuse in indigenous communities abroad and at home.

The money raised will be used for air fare to New Zealand.  Any money raised over the cost of air fare will be used specifically for my continued education.   The deadline is fast approaching:  January 22, 2016.

As a recovering addict, sober 23 years, I have a passion for those struggling with addiction.  I want to educate people on the pain of addiction and recovery.  I want to  be all that The Creator made me to be.

Going to New Zealand to teach and learn from the indigenous people is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I know will be life-changing.  I would be very grateful for any amount you contribute.
