Save the Ashton Hills Geese!!!!

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Michael Johnson. As many of you know, our community made the local and national news recently due to a problem with the geese at Ashton Hills Golf Course in Covington, GA. After approx, 15 years of the ownership trying to humanely rid the course of geese, the course has been recently awarded a permit to shoot the geese. The problem with the geese, in case some of you are unaware, is that normally geese migrate south as the supply of food diminishes in the winter. Our geese however are constantly being fed by homeowners and golfers, have become somewhat domesticated, and no longer migrate. The geese do thousands of dollars of damage to the course annually, not to mention the messy deposits they leave on the tee boxes and greens. so, to the point......I have spoken with one of the owners, Bryan Raines, and he has continued to work towards a non-lethal solution to the problem, and has found one. There is one rescue group who will come in, trap the geese, relocate them at least 100 miles away, and once there, remove their "flying feathers", leaving them unable to fly for up to 90 days. The rescue group claims that less than 5% generally return after this process.......but here's the problem......the golf course has already spent approx $5000 this year in repairing the damage from the geese. They now have a permit to kill them, and they have someone lined up to do it for about $50, and obviously do not want to spend $2500 when they could eliminate the problem for $50.......Another problem is the rescue group cant relocate the birds until after they "molt".......which is late June or early July.........I have asked for, and received a promise from Bryan that if I can raise the funds to pay for the relocation within the next couple of weeks, and pay for repairs of damages caused by the geese until the relocation can occur, they will not exercise their right to kill the geese........What I am asking for, is $1500 to cover the relocation expenses, plus $1000 to cover turf repair from now until the geese are gone. If any money is left after paying for repairs to the turf, I will donate every cent to the Newton County Animal Shelter. If you are reading this, please find it in your heart to donate, any amount helps. Most of these gesse were hatched here,  and we have watched them grow from waddling little chicks, to the beautiful birds they are now. It will be so sad to know that the geese will run up to the hunters looking for food and be shot, only because they have learned to trust humans because of all of us treating them as pets. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for anything you can do.......Have a nice day.
