Yale Summer Academy

Hello my name is Judah Spears.
I am a Junior in high school at Metro Institute of Technology and I wish to raise money to attend Yale’s Summer Academy for the summer of 2019. By the grace of God and help from family members, I am blessed to say I have been accepted into this program as of April 19th. Although I have received an invitation to attend, my only obstacle is the financial cost. I have already been awarded a $500 scholarship towards the tuition. My family and I have committed to contribute $1000 up front towards my goal, but your help would be greatly appreciated. This program will prove to be an eventful and transformative opportunity for me. The smile you see in this picture is charming, but in no way can completely describe my academic process. Throughout the last couple of years I have completely done a 180 degree turn when it comes to my schooling habits. I was not always the motivated student I am today. Clouded with indifference towards my own education, my performance definitely took a toll. Despite of this I was able to not only escape the environment that held me back, but the mindset that held me hostage as well. My journey has not be an easy one, but by the grace of God and my family I was able to rekindle the fire for learning I’ve always had. Being accepted into this program has been yet another reminder that I can achieve more than what is in front of me. As a student, I am very eager to experience these type of blessings that God has in store for me.
