Situation: My dog is currently being considered as a "dangerous dog" after he accidentally bit a girls face trying to get her away from him.
Details: My dog had an ear infection and even though I was treating it, it was still a sensitive spot for him. As I was walking him across a busy street I picked him up and carried him across. As we made it to the other side I continued to carry him in my arms and we were walking down the sidewalk when 3 girls came out of a pub and 1 shrieked when seeing him. The girl that shrieked has met Max (my dog) before and they played and were friendly with one another. However upon her shrieking my dog immediately growled and barked at her to let her know that he did not want to be touched. When she heard it and stopped I quickly spoke up and said "Hey he's got an ear infection right now and is pretty grumpy and doesn't want to be touched, sorry." They walked over to us and since I felt we were on friendly terms, decided to converse with them. As I was looking at the 2 girls to my left, the girl that shrieked being on my right, I heard Max growl in my arms and heard SG (Shrieking Girl) saying "It's okay, you're okay". As I turned my head to my right I could see her stroking his bad ear and putting her face against his. Before I could react I saw Max attempt at smacking her away with his face like it was a hand and his tooth getting stuck in her cheek like a safety pin going through the skin of a finger. She pulled away and her skin ripped. One of the other girls immediately went over to her to take her away and said "Just go, it's our fault so we won't report this." Four days later, Animal control came and took him away. Now they're saying he's a dangerous animal and he's my service animal (he helps me emotionally and physically when I have panic/anxiety/heart attacks) and I don't know what to do. This dog has been with me for 8 years, I've gone to school with him, taken him to dog parks and he has met well over 50,000 people. He's been praised and admired for his well manners in class, restaurants, stores, and on general walks. He is a good boy. He's an excellent boy. And if I failed on some part of his training I don't think he should be the one punished for my lacking.
This GoFundMe is to help me get him out and contact a lawyer about the whole situation. I've done an appeal but the person in charge of it was already preset on classifying him as "dangerous". I'm sorry that if this is imposing of me. But he's my son. He's my family. He means everything to me. And I will do anything to save him. Please help me. Please help me save him. Thank you.
