Help For Amy

We are asking for your help for my daughter, Amy.  Amy delivered her first baby on December 1, 2015.  On December 6th she suffered two hemorrhagic strokes due to undetected “Postpartum Preeclampsia”.  There were no previous medical issues either before or during her pregnancy.  She did everything right!  She went home after delivery and within two days she was on a ventilator, feeding tube, unable to walk or talk.  She spent six days in Intensive Care, several days on a neurological care floor and then moved to physical inpatient rehabilitation.  She has missed the first 7 weeks of her baby’s life.  Time you cannot get back.  The extent of her brain damage is still to be determined.  We are being told it will be a year before a final determination can be made.  Amy is a Neonatal ICU nurse practitioner and will likely never be able to return to her line of work. She requires 24/7 supervised care, has suffered cognitive deficits that may or may not get better.   She requires outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy for a long time. There are medical expenses beyond imagination.
