Eritrean family's unexpected debt

Donation protected
Asalam waalaykum warahmatulhi wabarakatu/Hello,

I was in Eritrea (Northeast Africa) this past February to March. During my 2 month long visit, there was a family I met in Eritrea that came upon some unexpected circumstances. They are one of the nicest/best family that I ever met in my whole life, and I really just want to help them get out of the situation they found themselves in.

The father of the family somehow managed to get himself into a large amount of debt without telling the family. He borrowed money from some people to pay for some sort of business opportunity. I am not exactly sure what it was. The father was tricked/lied/duped by people he had trusted and they ran away with all of the money he had borrowed for the investment. Afterwards, the family had been told what the father had done.

The father had passed away some years ago, so the debt was inheirited by the mother and children, that had absolutely nothing to do with attaining the debt. There are people asking them for the money. The mother does not work, so the daughter had to gain employment to get them to pay it off. I felt so bad when I heard about this story, so I knew I had to try something.

Currently in Eritrea, they are having a hard situation already to deal with. They have no running water, the electricity is not stable, food is expensive and the government has changed the currency. So money is really hard to come by.

They have a large debt owing that is around 600,000 nakfa, which is around $20,000-30,000. I dont want to ask for too much because I want to help them from my own pocket too, so im working on other ways to get the money.

Anything you give will be Greatly appreciated. $0.50 up to whatever you are to give. I want to say THANK YOU soo much if you are planning to donate. You really will be helping a family in need. Allah bless you with all the best that is in this life and in the next life. May He accept all your duas and prayers and give you the highest paradise for helping to alleviate a family in need.

You really are the best kind of person in this world with a beautiful heart. May Allah bless you with many many glorious blessings.

***The picture provided is not of the actual famiily, they do not know I am doing this on their behalf. Being a muslim family, they did not want to deal with the shame of asking people for money. They are trying their best to slowly pay off the debt, but the debtor is asking for the money and I can tell it might take them years to pay it off. I just want to try my best to help them any way I can. I had heard of go fund me before, and saw the beautiful stories and how everyone came to help a family in need. So I thought I can give it a try.
