Our friend Jordan Allen needs your help. Jordan is an English teacher and swim coach at a local Denver high school. On June 4, she and her sister Jamie boarded a plane for a two-week trip to Europe. It was supposed to be the trip of a lifetime, planned for months and months and eagerly looked forward to by both of them. On June 11, the two young women headed to the Shoko Barcelona club for a night of fun out on the town. Immediately upon entering the club, Jordan was hit square in the face with a glass bottle. There was a bar fight going on, and Jordan was unlucky enough to have walked right into it. A bottle was thrown (or swung), the intended target ducked, and Jordan was hit with the glass bottle. She spent the next three days in a Barcelona hospital where she was told she had a nose fracture and received 9 stitches to her face. She was advised not to fly for several days because of a blood clot in her nose, and was finally able to fly home on Monday, June 18 and see her doctor here. The damage was far more severe than the doctors in Barcelona led her to believe, and yesterday she underwent emergency surgery to repair 30 fracture fragments in her nose and forehead and mend the laceration. Shoko Barcelona has not taken responsibility for the incident and local authorities are doing very little to find the person responsible. None of Jordan's medical bills from Barcelona will be covered by insurance. She needs help with her insurance deductible for the medical treatment here at home and for her recovery. Any help you can give Jordan during this difficult time would be appreciated so much! Thank you!!!
