Help Get Me Back on the Street
Donation protected
So, six months ago I was homeless/couch-surfing. I put together a GoFundMe campaign and within 48 hours raised enough to get my own apartment. That campaign was called "Help Get Me Off The Street ". Now, I need to get back on the street to pay the rent!
"But, how are you gonna pay your rent?", uttered a concerned friend once I raised enough money to get an apartment. My answer....
Why....with UBER!
For the past three months I've been driving Uber part time and taking home around $250/week. Part time. The reason only part-time is that I share the Prius with a partner, who also drives Uber for a living. I'm not only a very good driver, I'm very funny and often create a rolling comedy show. I'm rated 4.8, near the highest you can be rated by Uber.

The purpose of this campaign is to help get me my own car. I finally have a job I'm good at, can make an honest living and a job I really enjoy. (I've been without a car since 2010 when the City of LA towed my car and sold it when I was in England doing a TV pilot!)
A company called Breeze specializes in leasing Prius's to Uber drivers like me. They charge $200/week, but you can break the lease with only two weeks notice. (I can pay each week with a day and a half driving.) In order to get a car through Breeze, I need to give them $250 down. Plus there's another $75 or so for insurance.
My current car share only allows me to have the car about 1/3 of the time I could be rolling on the road making cash. I've been concentrating on the graveyard shift of 10pm to 5am in the morning. On any given shift, I can take home $100. But when I have my own car full time, 7 days a week, I'm confident, after expenses, I can take home at least $600/week; more than enough to cover the rent on my apartment.
Unfortunately, I no longer have any credit cards or savings anymore; and so everything I get is on a cash basis. I just don't have the $250, plus the other expenses outlined above. I'd like to raise enough money to put me on the road without worry for two weeks. Roughly calculating, that would be around $750 I need to raise, including insurance and gas, and the lease of the car of course.
In addition to a job I love, I also have a new podcast. The Uber Show is all about uber guests and uber driving too. Being reformated, here is the first episode .
Anyway, I really appreciate the help and if you're in LA and need a ride, call me! I guarantee it will be fun fun fun till your daddy takes the T-bird away....
Thank you so much.
Love and laughter,
Steven Alan Green
