Audubon Zoo Summer Camp Scholarship

Summer 2015 was the beginning of a new effort to bring children from disadvantaged neighborhoods to the Audubon Zoo Summer Camp. Through funding from local partners, the Audubon Zoo was able to offer 40 scholarships to children from the Gert Town neighborhood. In addition to the Summer Camp fee, the scholarship covered transportation, a special orientation for the children and their parent(s), lunch, and snacks each day. In Summer 2016, the Audubon Zoo is hoping to expand the Summer Camp Scholarship to supprt more children and perhaps another neighborhood, but they need local sponsers like WAKA to make this opportunity for local children possible.
