Walk with Hayley in support of cancer patients
Donation protected
Please help me in raising money to support those in need of financial help while facing the harrowing reality that is cancer!
In an effort to help those affected by Cancer, I am organizing a sponsored walk on June 29th, and I invite you to mark your calendar and join us for a fun-filled walk out in nature. Thanks to my wonderful family and friends, we will be holding walking events in multiple parts of the world (Ireland, San Francisco, Dubai, London, Scotland etc).
This is a cause very close to my heart. In February 2019, I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma after finding a small lump above my collar bone. A pet scan revealed that I had a large cancerous mass growing in my chest, and time was of the essence. As recommended, I immediately started chemotherapy treatment. Since then, I have been beyond fortunate to receive medical treatment from the most incredible doctors and nurses in one of the most regarded hospitals, and reached remission earlier this month. This has been a daunting and challenging time for my family. However, we have been blessed with an outpouring of support and love from our communities and wouldn't have gotten through it without it. On top of that, I have the privilege of having health insurance here in the US, which without it would have put my family in an even more difficult and stressful situation.
Sadly, there are so many people out there receiving diagnoses like mine, and worse who do not have the financial means, resources, access to health care and support that I have. Many don’t realize all the areas of life a Cancer diagnosis can effect for not only the patient, but also the direct impact on family, friends, partners, children, co-workers etc. Suddenly, your ability to work changes or stops, your independence is altered, you need a caregiver, your schedule is filled up with hospital/doctor visits and trips to the pharmacy, maintaining your weight and a nutritional diet is of great importance, your ability to sleep or just be comfortable is a challenge, some medications interfere with your ability to drive, your mental health takes a knock ... I could go on and on. These are REAL issues cancer patients face, and worrying about how you are going to pay for the treatment that can SAVE YOUR LIFE is something I wish no one ever had to go through, but is unfortunately a reality for many.
I would love if you would please donate any amount that feels appropriate for you (no amount is too small) and know that your kindness is greatly appreciated. At this point I am still researching organizations to partner with that are able to provide direct services to cancer patients and their families, and will update you once they have been confirmed!
In the meantime, Please see the facebook page or message me directly for more information.
Thank you!!
