I have always been that person who was independent and able to do for myself. How humbling to now find myself in a predicament where I have to lower my pride and ask for help. In 2007, I was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Luekemia). My doctor recommended a trial drug, which I tried, that quickly put me into remission. Yet, here I am 10 years later because the AML mutated into a more aggressive form of the disease. To date, I have not been to work and am unsure of when I can return. My bills and living expenses continue to accumulate without fail. I have twins that graduate this year and my oldest son is graduating college; so as a parent this is also a great concern. This is the hardest thing next to battling this disease that I have ever had to do. So trust me when I say that I truly appreciate every gift of help and offering of love that each of you find in your hearts to share.
