More information about Friends of Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy: Working in cooperation with Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy Inc, our mission is to support the children with special needs in the community by providing scholarships for therapy services and support for equipment, personnel, and resources necessary to maximize safety in administrating these services. Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy uses a highly evidence-based treatment strategy, hippotherapy, as part of a comprehensive treatment plan under a licensed physical, occupational, or speech therapist. Hippotherapy is a strategy that utilizes the movment of the horse to help produce movement in the patient that is biomechanically similar to independent walking. The specialized movement and high dosage of repetition, make this an incredibly effective treatment strategy in helping persons with neurological dysfunction achieve improvements in their independent functioning.
