Standing Rock or bust

My name is Sam Deering. I am a Navy veteran heading to Standing Rock with other veterans from around the country to stand with the water protectors working to halt the Dakota Access Pipeline. I am raising money to pay for transportation from Virginia to North Dakota and back for myself and others, gather much needed supplies for the camps, and to hopefully have enough to provide for immediate needs onsite. We leave Sunday the fourth for Standing Rock, so we have a week to gather funds.
The struggle at Standing Rock embodies many of our problems as a nation; police brutality, systemic racism, corporate greed and influence, indigenous rights, and mostly our environment. Water is life, and to threaten any water, much less a watershed nearly 20 million Americans depend on, is something we simply can't afford. 
I don't have the words to express the gratitude I feel for the outpouring of support we have already received from folks around the country and the world. I implore you all to take it one step further and vote with the most powerful ballot we have, our dollar. We need help if we are stand up to such a wealthy and influential entity, but it is a stand I feel we must make.
