Design Village: Woodbury
Donation protected
We are a group (Sejal Bahety, Vanessa Shealy, Amir Fakharian, Jose Monroy, Weidong Zhou, Miguel Ruiz)
of first year architecture students representing the program at Woodbury University.
On April 15-17 we will be part of Design Village, an annual design competition hosted by Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. We are motivated by our desire to apply our skills and ideas to an extracurricular project. However, as the cost of education increases, money for extracurricular design research is nonexistent. So we are humbly asking you to help us reach our financial goal in order to achieve our design vision for this competition.
Design Village asks teams of students to explore large-scale architectural ideas in small-scale structures. Programmatically, the structure simply serves as an enclosure in which to sleep for two nights. This year's theme is "Aura" which implies an immateriality. We plan to use transparent acrylic tubes and mirrored acrylic to create a sense of invisibility while bringing the natural surroundings into the project. The earth and the sky are our building materials.
This extracurricular experience is important to our architectural development. With your donation you can help us purchase the material we need to achieve our goals. Our intent is to raise at least $4,000 to contribute to material expenses. Every dollar you contribute is greatly appreciated.
