Lisa Clark: Giving the Gift of Life
Donation protected
In December of 2015, Jody Morse was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure due to an autoimmune disease called IgA Nephropathy. Both of her kidneys failed and she began dialysis as well as the search for a kidney donor. Because Jody’s blood type is O+, she faced long wait times.
Lisa Clark (some of you know her as Lisa Mason) and Jody have been online friends for many years, connected through the same writing communities, but had not met in person. Lisa recently relocated from Texas to New Jersey, her new location only a couple of hours away from Jody’s hospital. Lisa is the right blood type and decided to get tested to see if she would be a match for Jody. She was!
After an extensive series of tests, the transplant team decided Lisa is a good candidate for transplant. As long as all goes well, surgery is tentatively scheduled for April 13th (that’s less than a week away now)!
During the recovery period, Lisa – who is self-employed - will need to take some time off of work. She has five children and her van recently broke down. The funds raised through this campaign will be to assist her with any of the ongoing expenses that she may need help with as a result of the surgery
Please note: Lisa Mason will have sole access to this campaign effective immediately. Go Fund Me only allows one person to withdraw from a campaign, and Lisa is it.
If you are not comfortable with Go Fund Me, but would like to help, please visit Lisa’s website and use the “Tip Jar” in the right sidebar. You can also read more about why Lisa decided to donate via this blog post:

The gift of life is a beautiful thing and Lisa is a true hero. Any assistance you could give would be very much appreciated.
EDIT TO ADD:
Amazing. Check this out, folks! The authors who collaborated to write Thirteen Stories By Us have come together and have agreed to donate all future proceeds from the book for the next while to Lisa Clark. One hundred percent of the profits will be sent to Lisa.
The group only has current control of the PRINT book, so if you choose to support the cause by purchasing this book, please make sure you buy the PRINT version and not the electronic version. It is only $5.99 and contains some great stories.
Thank you all for your generous contributions!
