Daniel Update: May 18, 2017
Today is Surgery Day!
I ask that you keep Daniel Roberts in your prayers this morning as he is scheduled to undergo his amputation surgery at 12:30 this afternoon. The procedure is a rotationplasty, see explanation below and it can take from 8 to 10 hours to complete.
This is one amazing young man. He has maintained such a positive attitude in the face of all these medical procedure. I can only image how overwhelming it had to be at some points for a 9 year old to have to process all of this and yet he remained positive. This is truly a reflection into the wonderful soul of this sweet young man.
The initial portion of his medical journey may be coming to a end, but the really tough part is about to start. I ask each and everyone who is able to make a small support donation to Daniel's Go Fund Me Account. He has a long road ahead of him, and assistance is needed to cover the cost of transportation lodging and uncovered medical expenses.
Love and prayers to Daniel, Catherine Inman, his sister Jessica and his grandparents. We will be praying Daniel through this procedure and to recovery!

Rotationplasty is a type of autograft wherein a portion of a limb is removed, while the remaining limb below the involved portion is rotated and reattached. This procedure is used when a portion of an extremity is injured or involved with a disease, such as cancer. Typically, the ankle joint becomes the knee joint.

Daniel Update: May 11, 2017
For those that are keeping up with Daniel as he progresses through his treatment, he is on a brief hiatus from his chemotherapy treatments returning home last Friday afternoon.
The past two weeks were full of chemotherapy treatments, X-rays, CT scans and MRI’s. They had many discussions with Daniel’s surgeon to discuss his surgical options. All of the diagnostic test show his tumor is responding well to his current course of treatment. The CT scan confirmed that the cancer has not metastasized/move to the lungs or any other location, which is GREAT news!
With the location of his tumor and the lack of viable bone, the decision was made to proceed with a surgical rotationplasty. If you are like me, this is a new procedure, one which I had never heard of an had difficulty understanding plain text. To help you understand the procedure, I have attached a link to a You Tube Video from the Mayo Clinic, which features a patient who underwent rotationplasty, what the actual procedure looks like and how it has affected her mobility and life.
During their visit, Daniel and Catherine meet with an amazing family whose son has undergone the same type of surgery. Daniel had the opportunity to spend time with him and ask him all types of questions. Catherine had the opportunity to spend time with his mother and ask her questions as well. Catherine stated, “it was a huge sign of hope that there will be many years of happiness in our futures.”
Daniel’s surgery is scheduled for Thursday, May 18, 2017. We ask that you cover him in prayer, as well as his surgeon and surgical team. In the meantime, Catherine and the kids will be enjoying Daniel’s mini-vacation from chemotherapy, so stay tuned for many pictures.❤
Collectively, we have successfully raised $8000.00 to assist this loving family with their ongoing financial needs. The overall treatment plan for Daniel truly is a marathon and not a sprint, and he will have many more months of chemotherapy, physical therapy and physician visits well after the surgery is completed.
We ask that you consider donating to the GO FUND ME account. No gift of love is too small to make a difference for this young man. Thank you for all you have done thus far and continue to do. Together we can support Daniel as he battles to conquer cancer.

Daniel Update: 4.25.2017
Daniel had an appointment with one of his primary physicians. After a battery of x-rays, it appears the tumor is responding to the chemotherapy treatment as hoped. This week, most likely on Wednesday he will undergo another MRI and CT scan to get a better view of his progress.
As his treatments progress and his team of physicians are able to monitor the tumors progress, discussions will continue around the prescribed course of treatment and different surgical options. Please continue to keep Daniel, Catherine, Jessica and the rest of the family in your daily prayers.
We cannot begin to express the magnitude of our gratitude for your love, prayers and financial support of Daniel and his family during his fight to conquer cancer. As his treatment progresses, we will get a better feel for the timeline and the events as they unfold. Please feel free to check this website for updates, as I will post them as received.

Update: A huge thank you to all for your love, prayers and support of Daniel and his fight to conquer bone cancer. As of 3.22.2017 we have surpassed our first level goal to raise $5000.00 and are only $43.00 away from our second goal of $7500.00.
We are striving to raise $10,000.00 in support of Daniel. The funds will be used to offset the cost of transportation to and from Shands Hospital in Gainesville Florida, food and extended lodging as well as services, equipment and expenses not covered by insurance.
Thank you so much for your generosity!
This Go Fund Me account is being established for Daniel Roberts, the son of Catherine Inman. Daniel is an energetic nine year old boy who loves Star Wars, The Flash, the NY Giants and reading books. He is a huge WWE fan through and through, just ask his Mother and sister who have accompanied him to Wrestle Mania!
In January, Daniel told his mother that he was experiencing pain in his right leg. After two trips to the pediatrician, they were referred to a pediatric orthopedic surgeon. This led to a battery for test x-rays, MRI’s and CT scans. The physician was 99% sure they were dealing with some type of cancer but needed a bone biopsy to confirm. They were referred to the University of Florida in Gainesville for medical evaluation.
Catherine accompanied by her mother Pat Inman and Daniel’s Father headed to Shands Hospital on Monday, February 20, 2017. Once there things moved quickly, with Daniel underwent blood work and a bone scan on Wednesday, February 22 before they could schedule his biopsy on Thursday, February 23. He was such a trooper and after arriving back home he told his mother he wanted to go to school the next day.
The results of the bone scans and biopsy confirmed it was osteosarcoma, which is a form of bone cancer. The mass is located in his femur on his right leg. The medical team wanted to initiate his treatment as soon as possible. He underwent surgery for the installation of the port for his chemotherapy. He began chemo on Friday and received treatment for two days.
The plan now is for Daniel to undergo chemotherapy then amputation of the malignant area. They will remove it from where the cancer is present and his ankle will become his knee, it is a 180 degree flip. He will be fitted for a prosthetic from there down.
It is so hard to fathom how their lives have been turned upside down over the course of (7) days. It is hard to understand how and why these types of things can happen to adults, let alone a sweet child such as Daniel.
There are magnitudes of expenses, which will not be covered by insurance, but will need to be paid just the same. These range from extended lodging for Catherine, Jessica and her parents, along with meals and medical co-pays and non-covered services.
I have known Catherine for eleven years. I hosted her baby shower when she was carrying Daniel, and I remember clearly the day the Lord blessed us with this sweet boy. I live several states away, and wanted to do whatever I could to help ease the stress these wonderful people are enduring. So I pray faithfully and every day, and through pray and her consent I asked if I could establish this Go Fund Me Account. I have no idea what the true cost of this treatment will be and what they may need to see this journey through, but for now I am asking for anyone who knows this precious family to donate to this fund. I have set the goal at $5,000.00. Your thoughts, prayers , love and support are greatly appreciated.
