Websleuths is on the Brink

Donation protected
You know when you think to yourself “This is it. Things absolutely cannot get any worse” and then things get worse? That’s exactly what has happened.

Due to a couple of events happening at the same time, Websleuths is in dire financial straits. It's bad. Really bad.

Thanks to the generous donations from our last Websleuths GoFundMe, we received an average of $1600 a month for six months.

Like many small one-owner businesses, I also invest money from another job I have into the running of Webseluths.

This part-time job has been very steady and very well paid for the past ten years. With this money, the advertising money and the money raised from the last GoFundMe, we were able to operate Websleuths.

The months of January, February and March are always the lowest months in the advertising business, however, I greatly underestimated just how low January and now February 2018 would actually be. It has left Websleuths in a very scary place.

Then came word that my wonderful 10-year job has been cut back by three fourths. Now I am making exactly one-fourth of the money I have come to depend on and money I would turn around and put into Websleuths.

Add all of these things together and what you have equals financial disaster.

It makes me sick to my stomach to have to turn to you again so soon, but I have nowhere else to go.

The first bill paid is always the server which is $1100. 00/month. This ensures Websleuths will continue to run.

It is Websleuths other obligations - obligations that could cause the downfall of Websleuths if not paid - that is the problem facing Websleuths now. Everything from our contractors who help run Websleuths, to business fees due, to legal fees incurred to protect Websleuths, and more.

Websleuths is my full-time job. I am balancing running the forum, trying to help victim’s and their families, and handling the business end. Websleuths takes up my life right now, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated. If everyone gave $5 once, Websleuths would be in the black for a long time to come.

Funds donated will be used as outlined above and at the further discretion of management.

Finally, let me stress, if you cannot afford to donate, please do not worry. Five dollars is a lot of money when you are broke.

Websleuths will never charge for membership. Not as long as I am around.

Please take a moment and look at the incredible work our sleuths have done in our Cold Cases  ,  Missing Persons  & Crimes in the News.
