Wee Michaels Journey (SAA)

Donation protected
Michaels journey so far has lasted over a year. We started this go fund me in August 2018 and all donations have been used wisely and kept us on our feet during this stressful time.
Michael's immunity has been so high risk that he's not allowed on public transport or to attend school.
I update this area when I can so people know what they are helping with and where we are in our journey.
It's now almost May 2019 as I write this new update. Michael is about 5 months post transplant and doing well. He's still not allowed on public transport but will be back to school soon.
His chemotherapy hit him really hard and the issues that followed it. He has struggled alot but he is getting there. The drugs he is on post transplant keep his immunity high risk.
We hope this doesn't result in too many hospital stays but that's what all money donated gos towards. So far there's only been a few hospital stays in the past five months since transplant.
Hospital stays.
Travel expenses for appointments which are currently weekly (a huge leap forward as they were initially more than that!)
Childcare expenses for the siblings .
And of course keeping Michael entertained as it's very isolating spending every single day at home or hospital. Over 12 hours a day with get little to do.
Keeping his diet clean which is very hard with four kids and one income. He isn't allowed takeout food or reheated items or food from the fridge that's been open longer than 24 hours. His diet is full of proteins and healthy fats. Alot of fresh meat/poultry which obviously isn't the norm for a low income family. Hand on my heart we could not of managed to keep a roof above our kids heads or food in our bellies without the help of the people who have donated or fundraised privately for us. Charities like Live Oliver were a God send during transplant as they helped with hot healthy meals aswel. When you list off the things you spend money on it seems like very little. But the sheer amount of money spent on travel, food and drinks alone during hospital stays etc for 6 people would blow your mind. So if you factor is list wages/lost overtime your bank balance is used to it gets very difficult to manage.
Theres so many things that just "pop up" on these journeys.........❤ Please see Wee Michaels Journey on Facebook to follow our wee struggle ❤michael in may 2018 at the beginning of his journey getting his hickman line in
