My Performance - Welcome to America

Essentially, America's has some major issues, which is why 2019 is the year that I want to try and do my socially charged show in the Greater Cincinnati Area, but I need help funding it. My main goal is to present pertinent social and economic problems within the United States in an informative, educational, thought provoking, and creative way, through edgy visual performance art. I will use dance, multimedia, storytelling, poetry, wit and satire to empower and influence people to make a valuable change, either in their own personal lives or within their communities. Something as small as getting involved, donating time or money, providing clothing or shoes, or feeding someone is better than passively standing by and doing nothing at all. It’s the simple idea of paying it forward, and giving to those who need it more than you do. This unique concept will be based on over 2 years of extensive research, which I conducted while pursuing a Master’s Degree at St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX. During these studies I created a Community Facebook Blog page called “Welcome to America: There's Gotta Be Something Better Than This Crap."

Essentially, we're all connected, and we must be fueled by something in order take action. Therefore, doing a full length show like this feeds into my soul. We cannot constantly rely on mainstream media for our daily dose of misleading or biased news coverage. Needless to say, there are much more things out there to know about our water and the food system, besides what these monopolizing greedy corporations want you to see.

Ultimately, I hope to discourage people away from apathy, and encourage them to get involved in their community. Then, if I can reach a handful of people, who can inspire a few more people, that’s certainly better than not doing anything. In the end, if we all lived today like there was no tomorrow, the world would be a very different place. Perhaps, people would stop taking so many things for granted, and learn to work together, United We Stand.
