WellPower Pilot Program

Here at WellPower, we have the audacity to believe that access to clean water and electricity is not a privilege, but a fundamental human right. A right that is being infringed upon for over 1 billion people, and this is a right that we swear to protect. The core of the problem is that most of these 1 billion people live in a place that the national grid and infrastructure doesn't reach, and likely never will. Without these essential ingredients, people are dying from water borne diseases, and economic output is limited to subsistence farming. The communities, these human beings, are essentially trapped, unable to develop and improve their lives.
After months of researching, we realized it doesn't have to be this way! The world needs a system that can provide utilities to off-grid communities. We relentlessly studied every solution to this problem that had been tried, learning from what had worked and what had failed. This led us to develop WellPower, the most effective solution to sustainable development ever attempted. By combining technical innovations with a deep understanding of people and the problem, we were able to create a low cost, long lasting, off-grid "micro-utility" provider.
WellPower uses upcycled solar panels and repurposed electric vehicle battery packs to generate and store electricity, powering a water filtration system for entire communities. We partner with local entrepreneurs who sell the clean water and excess electricity to their community at an affordable rate. This system has enormous potential to make a HUGE impact, as it is scalable, culturally compatible, and highly sustainable. Beyond creating clean water and electricity, WellPower also stimulates local economies, provides technical and business education to our partner entrepreneurs, and spurs socio-economic development.
We have made tremendous progress on this ambitious mission so far. We have a fully functioning prototype, an amazing team, partner organizations, supply chain partnerships with solar panel providers and battery manufacturers, and more. Now, we need to take our project out of the lab and into the field. We are running a pilot project in a small remote village in Kenya called Kokwa this December. This will allow us to validate our assumptions, field test our system, collect data, ask questions, and collect the conclusive evidence on the effectiveness of our system in order to raise funds when we return. Most importantly, we will be providing clean water and electricity to over 500 residents who lack it. We have almost every piece in place, save one: funding.
We need your help!!!
We currently do not have the funds to make this pilot project a success. We need to raise $20,000 in order to execute our plan this December. By helping us make this project a success, you are supporting entrepreneurship, sustainable development, and a system that will one day provide electricity and clean water to every person in the developing world who currently lacks it.
So please, support us, join us, and help us change the world!
